What, Me Worry?

So it seems as if we're going to be paying for this bit of governmental sleight-of-hand whether we want to or not, right?
 Well, we'll see.
I have no mortgage on the line,( I'm renting) but I do have approximately $8,000 in credit card debt.
Let's suppose that congress decides to rip off the taxpayers again with this outright abuse of their Constitutional authority, but is unable to ram it through; what happens next?
Well, some people are going to lose "their" homes, for sure, which means some of will lose their jobs as well.
Some banks will go bankrupt.
Some financial speculators will lose their assets.
Others will lose their collateral,(if any) maybe even myself.
Because I'm renting, it's highly unlikely that I will lose my home, and if I lose my car, I'm within walking distance of my job, so I keep that too.
My wife commutes, but if we go down to 1 car payment, she'll be able to afford to drive, so no big deal.
The lender isn't likely to repo my other car and remove any possibility of getting it's money back; in fact, they stand to take a pretty big hit if they do, and considering that they are already hanging by their fingernails, they'll be far happier if we continue to send in our payments, even if they are late.
Late payment is still better than no payment, and our combined incomes are more than adequate to pay off our debts within 1 year, so we're going to weather this no matter what.
It will take some frugal decision-making, but we're fine as long as we budget and neither of us dies (although even if that happens- we're both insured pretty good).
So I'm fully prepared for the bailout to fail, in fact, I hope it does.
We have plenty of food stocked up in the cupboards, several trees on the property and a fire pit to cook and boil water in, a big dog that loves us very much and would be only too happy to let me know if looters show up, and a shotgun with more than enough ammo to handle interlopers in groups less than 10.
I'm planning on increasing the number of firearms, and teaching my wife and kids how to use them in the event it would become necessary. I'm also on the lookout for the 1962 Boy Scout manual, which is an incredibly useful survivor's guide.
So let the socialists do their worst, I'll get by just fine, thank you.
In the meantime, I'll be very picky in the voting booth, and very vocal in my criticism of the shallow and the weak whenever they seek election in my district.
It must be said that I will teach my kids (and anyone else who will listen) that democrats are now the enemies of liberty in America, and are NOT to be compromised with, but defeated, degraded, ridiculed and shamed, until they remember what this country- the greatest experiment of governance and society in the history of man, owes them.
Nothing.

Dishonor among thieves.

I've been reading for the past few weeks as the economic crisis' continue to multiply, and the politicians continue to prevaricate, and the MSM continues to try to distract us all from paying attention too closely, and I have a question, which in itself has far too many ramifications to allow for discussion in a reply post in TH.
The question is pretty simple, really.
How many of the current eco-debacles can be attributed to the presence of 20/40 million illegal aliens in our country?
Oh, I'm sure there's plenty of congressional malfeasance coupled with financial executives in cahoots with the goal of lining their pockets with green at my expense and yours, but as I'm looking out my window watching the all Mexican roofing crew tearing off my neighbor's shingles, chattering happily away in Spanish, it suddenly occurs to me that there is probably a fairly large causal relationship between these activities, both in DC and in my town (and yours).
Let's start with a bare plot of land, shall we?
I'm a first time home buyer out to find the best home to raise my family, and as a middle income wage earner I've got my thrifty hat on, and I go to the bank to get a loan to build a new house. I've always bought things with cash, and thus I have little or no credit history beyond my utility bills. The bank looks at my scant credit history, and although I normally wouldn't qualify, thanks to Clinton era politicking and utter paranoia in the world of high finance, (who wants the NAACP or ACORN taking them to court for perceived discrimination, right?)
I get my loan, and cheerfully head out to hire construction contractors to build my new nest.
I do some shopping around, and I find a man whose rates are well within my builder budget, and we strike a deal.
After we dicker and draw up the plans, he gets supplied and starts the project.
He himself runs the digging equipment and adds crew to lay the foundation.
From here on out it begins to get murky.
His crew arrives, composed of two English speaking Mexicans, and several Spanish-only speaking laborers (5 to10).
They proceed to do a bang-up job laying the foundation in decent time.
The contractor then sub-contracts to frame the house and garage.
This crew arrives, consisting of one English speaking Mexican, and 10-15 Spanish-only speaking laborers.
They also do a pretty good job in a decent time frame.
Around this time, the third crew arrives to do the sheet-rocking, and consists of pretty much the same personnel as the framing crew, with a couple Anglo sub-contractors to handle the wiring, plumbing, and furnace/AC installation.
(Can you see where this is going?)
By the time the Mexican roofing, siding, sodding, window and door crews are finished, approximately 50 to 75 Mexican/ English as a second language workers have made money off of my new nest, and it was finished in a reasonable amount of time, for a pretty decent price.
Now, this is America, which means you try to get the best buy for the best buck; I get that.
The problem is, I have no idea how many of those whose hands built my home are legally working in the US, and have zero options when it comes to finding out.
The contractors aren't obligated to provide me with that info, and of course asking the workers themselves is a silly idea, so while I got an excellent deal, what are the true costs to Americans at large?
 I'll never know, will I?
When you consider that at some point, I will probably go back to the bank and tap my equity for some upgrades to my nest, I obtain another sub-prime loan to hire more illegals who keep the young high school students / college students unemployed.
The lefty government raises the minimum wage, further depressing the workforce wage averages, causing prices to rise, which leads to less sales, which leads to business lay-offs, which leads to higher unemployment, increased credit card use, and higher debt.
Throw in a little enviro- hysteria and government intrusion into the private sector, with energy mandates, more regulation, which increases costs even further ( again, you see where this is going?) coupled with the lefty media swinging between denial of any problem, and utter destruction of our economy by those greedy entrepreneurs, corporations, and investment bankers, and you have your recession looming large on the horizon.
People begin to panic, and divest themselves of their holdings on Wall street, sending the markets into free- fall.
And let's not forget our buddy George Soros, the currency speculator, who's been out with HIS buddies doing everything he can to crush the dollar in the world market; funding lefty politicians, as well as lunatics like Ron Paul, to help get his lefty friends elected, and we got quite a mess.
The issues are huge, and so are the ramifications, if this agenda isn't stopped in it's tracks and gets pointed in the other direction soon.
As for me, a simple little worker drone blogger, all I can do is try to talk to people and maybe convince a few to see reason.
The alternatives are frightening.
Fascist Socialism.
Cultural erosion.
Armed insurrection.
Revolution or coup' de tat.
Wake up America, the future is real, and it's coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

Hi there, Townhall.

The First Amendment guarantees the right to free speech; it does not guarantee that anyone is compelled

to respect the content, or even to pay attention to you at all.

It is with this basic understanding that I'm embarking on my crusade to greater wisdom and clarity in a

world which changes at a bewildering pace.

It's my hope that I can help to influence my fellow citizens to take more control and responsibility of their

own lives, and at the same time, grow as a man living in the most bountiful and benificent society ever

devised by the minds of mankind.

One of my favorite maxims is "You learn something new every day."

I take that very literally, hence my tentative probe into the blogosphere in an attempt to see more clearly

the world in it's entirety, with the lens cap off if you please.

The old press, the MSM, however you care to lable it, is becoming obsolete- not overnight, and not yet,

but they are losing in the information dissemination war. Not unlike blacksmiths they are unwitting victims

of a technological paradigm shift and people are starting to talk more directly to each other.

More of this can only be a good thing.

In this light, I will try my best not to offend the sensitivities of any specific group or individual- I don't

discriminate, I will offend everyone equally when they merit that kind of treatment, and if you don't like it,

relief is a left click away.
